Realm of Mirage BBS - My 80-node chat/MajorMUD BBS running mbbs6/WG1.x. We were big in the 201 area code here in NJ. Partnerships & meetups with sister-boards like CSIOnline, Rockpile, and Utopia made Mirage BBS one of the most popular places for chat back before there was Internet access. My handle back then was ][Ris. CiA - Napalm gave me some pointers in theDraw and helped with all our menu screen graphics for Mirage. CiA was the ansi/app group he was running at the time. At one point, he'd even handed me an amazing 180line ansi graphic.. because nothing screams 'leet' like lines of ansi graphics wizzing down your screen at a whopping 14.4kpbs! Telemate - this was the coolest terminal mode program (better than procomm) simply for the ability of being able to play musical notes through the PC speaker! k0rg 01/w proX - The best bday/xmas present I'd ever gotten from my family. Still one of my best synths, and perhaps the oldest roomate I've ever had. road luging - source of my first set of physical scars. Perhaps it wasnt such a hot idea to go rolling down a hill at night going 45mph on a homebuilt luge. Leather body armor?! what a concept! sasha Xpander - Found this song on a jukebox at a little hole-in-the-wall bar on Treemont Ave in Boston. I've followed Sasha's work ever since.. and it really got me into Trace/Techno in general. Direct Drive - In its hayday at Baktun, I'd go to this thing practically every other weekend.. once a month at least! DJ Bluewater and Seen were my fave's.. of course when Pish Posh or Wally would show up.. that was a must-show event. Konkrete Jungle was also good, but I'd only go if Rekall was spinning. Liquids - I miss this east village downtempo lounge. It had the best music and the coziest atmosphere. battle.net - The biggest timesink I had for a couple years. Between diablo2, starcraft, and warcraft custom maps (TD especially) I was trolling this like nobody's business. I've been clean since '05 though =) Amarthi - my most wellknown song.. can be heard in "Rubies of Eventide mmorpg" on the Founder's Isle. Amarthi is also my stage name for tribal fusion bellydancing (Daughters of Sophia). Lakewood Renfaire - Lion's Club & SCA faire where I was first exposed to djemebe drums in '97 and most recently performed as a bellydancer on the gypsy caravan. Art Bell - The best late night radio show host in the history of AM radio! C2C will never be the same w/o you. |
